What do Real Estate Agents Offer
Real Estate Agents can serve 2 main purposes which include the selling of a home, or they can act as the buyers agent for purchasing a home. All Real Estate Agents must be licensed in the state where the property is being purchased or sold. Typically, Real Estate Agents take classes and must past Real Estate tests so that they can become licensed. Real Estate Agents also take courses in Real Estate law and Real Estate financing and listings. Realtors belong to the National Association or Realtors and Brokers are licensed to own a Real Estate Firm.

For Sellers
Real Estate Agents will counsel home sellers on how much they should sell their house for based on what similar homes in the area have sold for, how large the home is, how good the schools are, how much work is needed on the house, etc. Real Estate Agents will market the home through open houses, flyers, advertising, and the MLS "Multiple Listings Service".

For Buyers
Real Estate Agents help home buyers find a house thats within their criteria. They will counsel the buyers on the area including schools, taxes, home values and much more. They will help the buyer through the entire home buying process from finding a home to closing on it. Real Estate Agents first step is to meet with the buyers to find out what they are looking for, then they search for homes that meet the criteria. Once the Real estate Agent has a list of homes, they will take you to them so that you can find the best home that meets your needs. Real Estate Agents can also help you find a mortgage company, home inspector, attorney and other real estate professionals that you may need during the home buying process.

How to select a Real Estate Agent?
The best thing a home seller or buyer can do to find a Real estate Agent is to ask friends or family. The second best way to find a Real Estate Agent is to search our Database of Real Estate Agents. Other good sources of finding a real estate agent include Yellow Pages or just driving around to see who home sellers are using.

How do Real Estate Agents get paid?
